hello, and I need help on recovering...

Hi, I am 24 years of age and still in college and set out to graduate end of next year.

My drug of choice is Oxycotin.

I've started abusing perc 30's since when 1 1/2 years ago... and then abusing with Opana. It's gotten bad to the point where, I would take 40-60mg of opana per day to function. Oh and LOTS of my money.

I NEVER had any addiction problem... I smoked pot here and there and I was sober for about 3 years during my high school year to college... and BOOM! I started experimenting with new drugs. I develop my interest in pills, because I thought it was okay for me to take it.... since it's made by the pharmaceutical company. So, me and my cousin started abusing perc 30's and opana like there was no tomorrow... I would get hangovers and I would feel like crap in the morning. I use to be very muscular, hitting the gym 24/7, and very healthy as well.

As the days went by... I started losing friends... and stealing from other people... and I was brought up as a Asian family, therefore stealing is BIG crime in our tradition. But I've started realizing... wow I NEED to stop, and that was back late last year. So, I did my research and seek for help.

I found out that, Suboxone (off of street) can help you cope with the withdrawls and I was successful at becoming sober. But later, I was diagnosed with ADHD, and got prescribed to Adderall, which has been tremendously help to improve in my daily task and life. (I only take the when I need it and never abused it once). While, I started messing with Oxys again... and I've been draining my money on this drug and I felt like this time I need help.

So, here is how I kicked my habit before...
My sister became a pharmacist, therefore she needed to relocate home. So I've decided to go live with her for a month (so I can kick my habit for good). And during this time, my cousin left to korea (family reasons) and my girlfriend was in korea as well (due to family reasons)... so I was all alone in this hell... I read somewhere that weed can help to cope with opiate patients, so I've only used it when I would feel very depressed. And I've gotten through my opiate hell and I stopped smoking weed. I was sober, ALL BY MY SELF.

About 6 months later, I've decided to pick up couple for myself... and here I was again... samething over and over and over... now I cannot afford to spend on any drugs and I've managed to pick up few Suboxone and started taking it today... So it's been less than 24 hours.

I went through minor withdrawl today, feeling down, depressed, and sad. But I think daily doses of my adderall is helping with my depression. (sure as hell I will never abuse these) bottom line... I want and need to be sober. I need support and help to get me through all my negative emotions and all the thoughts of wanting to pick up more stuff. I even thought of relocating again... but I need to graduate to be out in the world. I need your help and I am reaching out for the first time in my life for help. I am a college student with being broke and going through hell...

Apple's 'quality-control crackdown' may be reason for iPhone 5 shortage

Getting your hands on an iPhone 5 can be pretty tough right now. The Apple website offers estimated shipping dates which are a month out and many brick-and-mortar stores are low on stock. But high demand may not be the only cause of this apparent product?shortage, one report suggests.

According to?the folks at Bloomberg News, "a person familiar with the matter" claims that the "iPhone 5 supply shortfall is being exacerbated by a quality-control crackdown at Foxconn," where Apple many?gadgets are manufactured. This quality-control crackdown?is supposedly "designed to cut the number of devices shipped with nicks and scratches," according to the report.

Apple senior vice president of marketing Phil Schiller has previously commented on the propensity of the iPhone 5 paint job to scratch and chip in an email exchange with a customer.?"Any aluminum product may scratch or chip with use, exposing its natural silver color," he said. "That is normal."

Just like the iPhone 4 reception issues reported in the past, the cosmetic issues spotted since the iPhone 5?launch appear to?affect some users more than others.?NBC News tech?editor Wilson Rothman and I got the?iPhone 5 on the same day,?but while his was already showing wear after about five days of heavy use (and going in and out of jean pockets), mine didn't begin suffering from time spent?in a purse pocket along with other smartphones, loose change and my house keys until?after nearly three weeks.

We have reached out to Apple for comment on the reported quality-control crackdown as we wonder how it plays in with Schiller's remarks, which???as previously noted???reminded us?of the time?when late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs told a?customer?who complained about the iPhone 4 reception issues he experienced when his hand covered the device's antennas that he should "[j]ust avoid holding it that way."

Bring It On Home started as a brainstorming session on a late night, cross-Canadian road trip with the Shannon Whitworth Band, which Shannon had been touring and recording with since her days of leading the The Biscuit Burners and Barrett had later joined in 2010 after swapping places with a member of the acclaimed bluegrass band Town Mountain. In this particular tour, Shannon and Barrett were an opening act for Chris Isaak, and they spent the long slow drive from Winnipeg to Saskatoon trying to compile the perfect mix tape. Somewhere in the late night hours, they realized that this mix-tape was actually a compilation of the cover songs that they had both dreamed of someday recording ? their own random dream tribute album.

Two months later, Shannon and Barrett were in Asheville?s Echo Mountain Recording Studio with a team of talented friends and musicians from the area who helped to breathe the album to life. Legendary drummer Jeff Sipe (Aquarium Rescue Unit, Leftover Salmon) and master multi-instrumentalist Mike Ashworth formed the core rhythm section, and Justin Ray and Jacob Rodriguez took a break from touring with Michael Buble to contribute on trumpet and saxophone. Virtuoso bluegrass fiddlers Nate Leath and Nicky Sanders (Steep Canyon Rangers) added violins to Melissa Hyman?s cello lines while Michael Libramento, of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, played keyboards.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota has sparked a ton of controversy over some TV ads that are deemed negative "shame" ads. The nonprofit health insurer ran the following ads.

Here's an NPR spot about the ads and the ensuing attacks on Blue Cross for standing behind the controversial ads. While I think the ad falls drastically short of targeting the real problem - which is the government-special interest health and wellness paradigm - I think the ad certainly points toward the notion of accountability, even if the ad falls short on everything else.

There is also an article in The Atlantic that notes the controversy this ad has stirred up among those who are easily offended, or desire to be offended in the defense of others. The blogger Jezebel has raged on this issue on her blog, with her takeaway being "she's a problem."

You have the gall to make generalizations about?my life?because, in your eyes, I superficially resemble a massive, diverse swath of the population whose lives you've?also?deigned to generalize? Whose complex, painful, messy, joyous lives you've boiled down to, "Har har too many Cheetos"? Please.

...It would be possible to make a commercial calling for more accountability and transparency in food production and food marketing?the way that corporations and agribusiness feed people poison and call it nutrition. It would be possible to create healthy food that the poorest Americans can afford. All of this is possible.

I quoted excerpts from Jezebel because, even though the third paragraph starts inching closer to the truth, she becomes irrational, instead choosing to defend her own healthy fatness. That is where some of her logical points get lost in her annoying self-defense tirade. In spite of the food propaganda that is shoved down our throats on a daily basis and sold as gospel, there is an accountability factor at the individual level for opting out of the Cheetos and sugar addiction mentality, and seeking knowledge to influence self-improvement and a move away from the collective (anti)health establishment. Jezebel is right that "fatness" itself is not the problem - it is a symptom of the larger problem of an epidemic of chronic disease in modern America. Plenty of fat people are healthy whereas folks who are "not fat" are visibly inflamed and battling chronic health problems they have come to normalize as "it's just me."

There was a similar controversy in Georgia when ads were run by Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. This is a visually compelling ad, but again, watching the ad closing reveals to me that the mother is too brainwashed by the conventional myths and purposeful lies of the establishment to properly answer the question, "Mom, why am I fat?"

Flat gasoline prices mask sharp spike in California

(Reuters) - The average price for a gallon of gasoline in the United States rose less than half a cent over the past two weeks, masking a decline in most regions and a sharp spike in California prices, according to a widely followed survey.

Gasoline prices averaged $3.8375 on October 5, up from $3.8338 on September 21, Trilby Lundberg, editor of the Lundberg Survey, said on Sunday.

Prices were down about 3 to 12 cents in most markets except the West, she said.

While the overall U.S. average gas price was flat, the California average price at the pump jumped to $4.4992, up 38.79 cents per gallon in the same two-week period ending October 5, Lundberg said.

Even while U.S. crude oil prices eased during that time, refinery outages sparked higher prices, causing shortages at some gas stations.

On October 6, the average price in California for a gallon of gasoline hit a record at $4.614, according to AAA.

But two gasoline price indicators - one in California market proper and the other in the West region - showed signs that prices were set to ease, Lundberg added.

The spot price in Los Angeles dropped 40 cents between October 3 and October 5, from $4.2495 to $3.85 per gallon.

"Unbranded rack (gasoline), the second-most sensitive to changes in supply," also saw a decrease, according to Lundberg.

"That price on October 4 in the Western region was $4.0284. On October 5 it was $3.9075, so that means it dropped by a bit over 12 cents in one day."

Additionally, Exxon Mobil Corp's Torrance, California, refinery was back up and running after a power outage.

The current U.S. average for a gallon of regular gasoline at $3.8375, is still higher than a year ago, on October 7, when the average price was $3.4192, Lundberg said.

"People are not looking at the date and calculating whether it's interesting or not interesting, but it's not great for those really watching costs, or those trying to get around in this economy to find a job," Lundberg added.

According to the survey, which tracks 2,500 gas stations nationwide in the lower 48 U.S. states, the most expensive gas was in San Diego, at $4.55 a gallon. Drivers in Jackson, Mississippi, again paid the least at $3.43 per gallon, and two weeks a gallon of gas there cost an average $3.52.

VATICAN CITY (AP) ? Pope Benedict XVI urged the world's bishops on Sunday to try to bring back Catholics who have left the church as he opened a three-week meeting to reinvigorate the church's evangelization mission.

Some 262 cardinals, bishops and priests from around the world are in Rome for the meeting, or synod, called to give impetus to the pope's efforts to re-evangelize parts of the world where Catholicism has fallen by the wayside.

At the start of the Mass, Benedict named two new "doctors" of the church, conferring one of the Catholic Church's highest honors on the 16th-century Spanish preacher, St. John of Avila, and the 12th-century German mystic, St. Hildegard of Bingen. They join the ranks of only 33 other church doctors who have been singled out over the course of Christianity for their contributions to and influence on Catholic doctrine.

Benedict has long lamented that in Europe and the Americas, Catholics no longer practice their faith or pass it onto their children. That concern is reflected in the synod's working document that will form the basis of discussion over the next three weeks.

"There is a clear link between the crisis in faith and the crisis in marriage," the pope said.

The so-called "new evangelization" is a top priority for Benedict, who routinely laments how cultures in Europe and the West that were once profoundly Christian have become increasingly secular.

The church has been beset by competition from rival Protestant churches in Latin America, dissent from Catholics who oppose church teaching on homosexuality and desertions in the U.S. and Europe from Catholics fed up by years of sex abuse scandals.

"The church exists to evangelize," Benedict said in his homily, urging a new missionary spirit among the church's pastors to reawaken the faith among Catholics who have been baptized but no longer practice their faith.

The synod coincides with the 50th anniversary of the start of the Second Vatican Council, the 1962-65 church meetings that modernized the church.

Cardinal Donald Wuerl, the archbishop of Washington, was named by Benedict to run the meeting.

At the start of the Mass, Cardinal Angelo Amato, head of the Vatican's saint-making office, read aloud the reasons why the church was proclaiming St. John and St. Hildegard doctors, saying their "holiness and eminent doctrine" shine hundreds of years after they lived.

Benedict is particularly fond of Hildegard, who was considered a saint in his native Germany but was never officially proclaimed one by the Vatican. Benedict, who himself referred to Hildegard as a saint, earlier this year passed the decree making her one officially, a requirement for her to be named a church doctor.

The last church doctor named was St. Therese of Lisieux, France, in 1997. The first church doctors were Sts. Ambrose, Augustine, Jerome and Gregory the Great.
